Slightly raw black metal that stands head and shoulders above anything else in the genre. The use of traditional Chinese instrumentation and a frankly insane vocal delivery give this record the edge on your standard Western fare.
Favorite track: Heyday of East Dan 盛世東丹.
Frozen Moon from northeast China, with their previous opus Legend of East Dan I, they have cemented their reign as the harbinger of Folkish Black metal among Chinese underground scene. Like their previous full length, this newest EP continue the dirge of the fallen East Dan, with 6 tracks of folk/symphonic black metal in the veins of classics like Nokturnal Mortum, while elements like traditional folk singing and more heavy metal-driven riffs conjure a fresh yet obsucre mist over the fallen oriental empire's myths and pride.

I received this in the mail the other day, since then, I have listened to it every day. I can't get enough, The music follows the classic elements of the black metal genre but blends Chinese traditional styles. I do not regret buying this, just because I like the feel of. I look forward to more releases and exploration of this style. 谢谢 Eckchuah

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
